Eccomi qua nel buio from Bocksten
Written in Italian by Fabio Pusterla
Eccomi qua nel buio
ed è lontano
il trotto dei cavalli, il passaggio
di corpi e luci e sagome sull’aqua.
Lontano il fuoco, le voci.
Eccomi nella torba.
O forse dovrei dire
che io sono il lontano
trottare dei cavalli, io il passaggio
di umani nella neve, di barche traballanti sulle onde.
Ciò che resta del fuoco, delle voci.
Goccia nella caverna, muschio
sopra la roccia. Traccia, graffito,
immagine slavata.

Ich bin da, im Dunkeln from Bocksten
Written in Italian by Fabio Pusterla
Translated into German by Melinda Nadj Abonji
Ich bin da, im Dunkeln
und fern das Traben
der Pferde, das Vorbeiziehen
von Lichtern und Körpern
und Umrissen auf dem Wasser.
Fern das Feuer, die Stimmen.
Ich bin da, im Torf.
Oder soll ich sagen
das entfernte Traben
der Pferde bin ich, das Vorbeiziehen
der Menschen im Schnee, ich –
schwankende Schiffe auf den Wellen
Überbleibsel vom Feuer, der Stimmen.
Tropfen in der Höhle, Moos
auf den Felsen. Spuren, Eingeritztes
ein Bild, verwaschen.

Evo me tu u mraku from Bocksten
Written in Italian by Fabio Pusterla
Translated into Croatian by Tvrtko Klarić
Evo me tu u mraku
i dalek je
konjski kas, prijelaz
tjelesa i svjetala i profila na vodi.
Daleko vatra, glasovi.
Evo me u tresetu.
Ili bih možda morao reći
da ja sam taj daleki
konjski kas, ja prijelaz
ljudskih bića u snijegu, lađâ uzbibanih na valovima.
Ono što ostaje od ognja, od glasova.
Kap u šupljini, mahovina
na stijeni. Trag, grafit, blijeda slika.

Me voici là dans le noir from Bocksten
Written in Italian by Fabio Pusterla
Translated into French by Mathilde Vischer
Trace, graffiti,
image délavée.

Swiss poet Fabio Pusterla takes the stage at FLIP, Brazil’s main literary festival (www.flip.org.br.) For the occasion, a collection of Pusterla’s poems has been published in Brazil. Swiss poet Prisca Agustoni translated Pusterla’s poems from Italian, her mother tongue, into Portuguese, her acquired language. Specimen has now combined a series of published and previously unpublished poems into a variety of first and second languages.
This project is part of a series of exchanges leading the way to Babel’s Brazilian edition, September 13-16 (www.babelfestival.com).
